Hi everyone. Name's Stephanie, I'm an American expatriate living in Wellington, but my boyfriend and I are soon moving down to Dunedin as I've been accepted at Otago and I'm going to finish my BA there while he works on his Masters.

I don't know anyone around there, but would love to talk to some people who are familiar with the university and the area, and it'd be great to have met someone before going there.  Let's be friends? :)

Hi guys, I know I've hassled you about ID's and everything before, but now I've just got a question to foreigners that go clubbing in NZ:

I've read on the NZ government site that they only accept NZ id's and international passports but how strongly is that rule enforced? Do they let you use your foreign ID's? And if so, what particular places are more lenient than others?

Thank you for all your help,

Tegan

ps. this has been cross posted everywhere, i'm sorry.

Is this actually a journal any one wants to keep alive? Yes? If so, how about giving it a wee kick in the pants. Advertise it: Critic would be a good start there... perhaps spread the good word via friends? It really does seem to be something that could be useful to Otago Uni people.

Apathy is a disease... communicable, too.

I would just like to mention the fact that I have created two additional New Zealand based communities, art_nz (named after the magazine) for the discussion of New Zealand art, artists, and exhibitions and art history, and nz_artists, for posting personal works of art by kiwis.

Just a quick note to say that I have created a community for discussing the works of New Zealand authors, nz_literature, in case anyone is interested.

Apr. 26th, 2005 @ 02:26 pm Hey

Hey, just joined this group and throught I'd better introduce myself.
My name's Catherine and I'm a homesick Wellingtonian living away from home for the first time.
I'm studying anthropology (later archaology), classics, computer science and German.
And am discovering how cold Dunedin really is.

Hey guys, I'm a former Otago Uni student. Now a nurse.

Calling all adventurous chicks!
I recently started learning Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) which is a martial art which has no punching or kicking, and is mainly based on close contact and getting your opponent to submit through various holds and pressure points. I do it for fun & fitness (ie - NOT competition stuff!) and self-defence, haha. BUT I'm the only girl! The only one under about 6ft too ;) so if you've ever thought about maybe learning something like this, I'd love another girl (or girls!) to train with! It suits just about everyone I think - doesn't matter about weight or size - you might have a problem though if you were, ahem, big chested - because there is a lot of lying on top of people using your weight to hold them down.

Get in touch w/ me if you're keen at kenzie.s [at] gmail.com

Cheers! K
